Brian Chan, Founder and Chief Software Architect of Liferay

If John Piper were a Chinese American software programmer with a knack for business, well, that would be Brian Chan. He started and runs a for-profit secular software business, called Liferay, and uses it as a means of glorifying God by spreading the Gospel and writing beautiful code. He graduated from the University of Chicago in 2000 and now lives in the Los Angeles area with his wife and two kids. Liferay provides non-profit organizations with an open source solution to facilitate collaboration on the Internet and has become a worldwide leader in innovative open source enterprise solutions.
